Fit To Do What They Do

When discovering new music, I often find myself asking questions that I can’t answer. So what do I do? I ask the band myself! I had the pleasure of picking the brains of Cleveland, Ohio metalheads of Fit For A Funeral, Adam Dukes(vocals) and Chip Weber(drums). I asked, and I received! From personal influences to dream venues, I learned what drives Fit For A Funeral members to do what they do, and now I will share it with you.

How long have you been musicians?

Adam(A): I've been a full time musician for about seven months now. [I’ve] been doing music since I was 16.

Chip(C): I've been playing drums since I was about 13 or 14, and I'm kind of a drum collector since I currently own three different drum kits.

Who are your influences?

A: My influences are Pantera, All That Remains, Korn, ICP, Tech N9ne, Metallica, a whole lot of 90’s bands, Hatebreed [is] by far my favorite, [and] Killswitch Engage.

C: My main influence for playing drums is Lars Ulrich from Metallica. If it wasn't for them, I probably wouldn't be playing drums actually. On the music side, my influences range from Issues, In Hearts Wake, Bring Me The Horizon, letlive., and a whole bunch of other amazing bands!

What is your dream venue to play and why?

A: Madison Square Garden for sure. It's just an iconic place.

C: Dream venue has got to be Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. It's home. It's the biggest arena in Cleveland and I think that's just where I would say to myself that this band truly made our name. Dream show would have to be Download Festival or Rock on the Range.

Who is your dream band to play with or collaborate with?

A: Dream band would have to be Hatebreed.

C: Band to collaborate with would have to be either letlive., or Bring Me The Horizon for sure!

Are you currently working on new music?

A: Yes, we literally just wrote two new ones today.

C: Currently, we're in the mixing process of our first EP called Buried Alive and we're actually writing a bunch of new material to possibly record our first full length album beginning in late Summer 2017, as long as all the cards fall into place.

Do you have a message for the reader?

A: Unite the scene. Fill venues. Support your locals. We aren't your normal cookie cutter metal band. We all bring our own personalities into it and just mesh so perfectly together. You won't be disappointed in our music or shows.

C: To the Cadaver Crew: We all thank you for your time and effort in supporting and promoting us, just as hard as we do. You're the reason we do what we do. The never ending support from everyone involved, from our fans to the other bands in the Ohio music scene, has been absolutely AMAZING!
